Appliances we remove

Fridges, washers, dryers, stoves.

Appliances are where town bulk pickup gets complicated. Almost every Westchester town treats refrigerators, washers and other metal items separately from furniture. Yonkers and White Plains need an appointment, New Rochelle also requires a Freon removal sticker for refrigerators and air conditioners, and Mount Vernon’s free bulk pickup doesn’t take appliances at all.

With us, there’s no appointment to book and nothing to drag outside. We carry the appliance out of the kitchen, laundry room or basement, protect the floors and doorways along the way, load it and haul it away.

Replacing an appliance and the store won’t take the old one? That’s exactly the kind of job we handle. If you’re clearing out more than one, see garage and basement clean-outs.

When calling a crew makes more sense

  • You don't want to book a city appointment or buy a Freon sticker.
  • The appliance is in a basement or upstairs and too heavy to move safely.
  • You're replacing it and the old one has to be gone when the new one arrives.

Appliance removal FAQs

Appliance removal, answered.

How do I get rid of an old refrigerator in Yonkers?

The city gives you two options: book a metal pickup through the Mayor's Help Line, or bring it to the Recycling Center at 735 Saw Mill River Road yourself. If you'd rather not schedule anything or move it, we carry the refrigerator out and haul it away for you.

Do I need a Freon sticker if you take my fridge or A/C?

The Freon removal sticker is New Rochelle's requirement for curbside pickup of refrigerators and air conditioners. When you hire us instead, you don't need to buy one or book a city appointment; we take the appliance with us.

Does the appliance need to be disconnected first?

Please have it unplugged and, for washers and dishwashers, the water shut off and disconnected before we arrive. Gas appliances should be disconnected by a licensed professional. Tell us when you book if anything is still hooked up.

Will Mount Vernon's free bulk pickup take my washer?

No. Mount Vernon's free weekly bulk collection doesn't include appliances or electronics. Hiring a crew is the simplest way to get an old washer, dryer or refrigerator out of the house.

Can you take an appliance out of the basement?

Yes. Old freezers, dryers and dehumidifiers in the basement are no problem. We carry them up the stairs and out to the truck, and protect the floors and doorways along the way.
