What our furniture removal includes
Couches, sectionals, dressers. Gone.
Furniture is usually the biggest thing people want gone, and the hardest to move yourself. A sleeper sofa or a solid wood dresser can weigh more than one person should carry, and in Westchester it usually has to come down stairs: a walk-up in southwest Yonkers, a hillside driveway in Hastings-on-Hudson, or the narrow landings of an older Bronxville house.
We carry it from wherever it sits, protect the doorways on the way out, load it and haul it away. Your town may pick up some furniture for free, but most limit how much and when. The table below shows the rules in the towns we serve.
Getting rid of a mattress too? See mattress removal. Clearing a whole room or house? See estate clean-outs.
Sofas & sectionals
Couches, loveseats, sleeper sofas and big sectionals, including the ones that barely made it through the door.
Bedroom furniture
Dressers, nightstands, headboards, wardrobes and bed frames.
Tables & chairs
Dining sets, desks, office chairs, coffee tables and bookshelves.
Recliners & heavy pieces
Recliners, armoires, entertainment centers and other awkward, heavy pieces.
Disassembly when needed
Sectionals and bed frames that came in pieces can go out in pieces. Mention it when you book.

Furniture pickup rules around Westchester
Free at the curb, with limits.
Most Westchester towns collect some furniture at the curb for free, but each sets its own day, limit and building rules. Here's how it works in the towns we serve.
| Town | What the town does | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Yonkers | One non-metal bulk item a week, such as a couch, table or chairs, on your second collection day, from homes and buildings with six units or fewer. Larger buildings go through management. | Official page |
| Mount Vernon | Free furniture pickup every Friday through Republic Services; call at least 48 hours ahead. Limit of 200 pounds per household per week. | Official page |
| Scarsdale | Bulky trash, including beds, chairs and tables, is picked up weekly: Thursday for Routes A and C, Friday for B and D. Set out no more than 24 hours early. | Official page |
| Hastings-on-Hudson | Non-metal bulk trash like a sofa goes out on your regular trash day. No appointment needed. | Official page |
| Dobbs Ferry | Beds, cabinets, dressers and couches go out without an appointment, after 8 p.m. the night before your second garbage day. No pickup on holiday weeks. | Official page |
| White Plains | Furniture is picked up at the curb on the second day of your garbage pickup. | Official page |
| Bronxville | Bulk waste is picked up free on your second weekly garbage day, for small quantities; oversized items can be refused. | Local report (2026) |
Checked October 2026. Town rules change, so confirm with your town before you set anything out. Each town links to our local page with more detail.
When calling a crew makes more sense
- You have more than one piece, or more than your town's weekly limit.
- The furniture is upstairs, in a basement or in a building with more than a few units.
- It has to be gone by a certain day, like a move-out or a new furniture delivery.

Furniture removal FAQs
Furniture removal, answered.
How much does furniture removal cost in Yonkers?
It depends on how much of the truck your furniture fills. A couch and a few boxes is about a quarter truck; a full room is closer to half. Stairs and long carries can affect the price, so tell us the floor and send a photo if you can. You'll have the quote before we lift anything.
Will you take a sleeper sofa or sectional?
Yes. Sleeper sofas and sectionals are some of the heaviest, most awkward pieces in a home, and they're exactly the kind of thing we're here for. We carry them out carefully, protect the doorways on the way, and haul them away.
Can my town pick up my couch for free?
Often, if it's one piece and you can get it to the curb. Yonkers takes one non-metal item a week from smaller buildings, and Mount Vernon caps free pickup at 200 pounds a week. Check your town in the table above. For several pieces, upstairs items or a deadline, a crew is easier.
Do I need to bring furniture outside first?
No. We carry furniture out from any room or floor, including walk-up apartments, basements and attics. You don't need to move anything to the curb or the hallway before we arrive.
Do you donate furniture that's still in good shape?
We donate what we can when it's in usable condition, and recycle or dispose of the rest responsibly. If you have a piece you think someone could use, point it out when we arrive.
Can you take furniture the same day I call?
Same-day pickups are often available in Yonkers and nearby towns. Call early in the day with what you have and where it is, and we'll tell you right away whether a truck can get there today.
