Junk removal services in Scarsdale

Big houses hold a lot.

Scarsdale is a village and town of about 18,300 people (2020 census) covering roughly 6.7 square miles. It’s primarily residential, and about 90 percent of its housing units are owner-occupied. Its neighborhoods, from Fox Meadow and Greenacres to Heathcote and Quaker Ridge, group into five areas around the village.

Homes that stay in one family for years collect things: the basement furniture, the kids’ rooms after college, the attic boxes. When it’s time to downsize, sell or settle an estate, we take on the carrying and the hauling so you can focus on what to keep.

Scarsdale runs its own weekly bulk pickup and an e-waste drop-off, and they’re worth using for the right items. For everything else, especially anything upstairs, in the attic or more than a few pieces, there’s us. Pricing is by truck load; see the four sizes.

Moving in and out of Scarsdale

Moving up, moving down, moving on.

A whole-house move goes best when it starts weeks early, with a clear plan for what goes to the new place, what goes to family, and what goes away.

Scarsdale station on Metro-North's Harlem Line sits in the village center near Boniface Circle. If you're moving in or near the center, tell us about parking and any loading limits on your block when you book.

  • Start with the attic

Attics and basements take the longest. Clear them first and the rest of the house moves faster.

  • Book removal with the move

Have us haul away what isn't coming, so you don't leave a pile for the new owners or the curb.

  • Set electronics aside

Scarsdale doesn't treat electronics as bulky trash. They go to the e-waste container at the Sanitation Yard on Secor Road, or out with your junk removal load.

How Scarsdale bulk pickup compares to hiring a crew

Weekly pickup, a few house rules.

The Village of Scarsdale picks up bulky trash every week. Here's what its sanitation pages say.

What the Village of Scarsdale handles

  • Bulky trash is collected once a week: Thursday for Routes A and C, Friday for Routes B and D.
  • Items can go to the curb no more than 24 hours before your collection day.
  • Accepted items include beds, chairs, mattresses, tables, windows and wood that isn't construction or demolition debris. Large metal appliances are listed separately as bulky metals.
  • Electronics aren't bulky trash. They go to the e-waste container at the Sanitation Yard, 110 Secor Road.
  • For a large amount, the village says you may call to schedule a pickup outside the regular schedule.

When calling a crew makes more sense

  • The items are in an attic, basement or upstairs bedroom.
  • You're clearing a whole house before a sale or a move.
  • You have renovation debris, which the village won't take.
